Enhancing a street market
Project that aims to enhance a street market
Study for the improvement of the attractiveness of a non-sedentary market that consists of a current diagnosis of the market, the analysis of the municipality and its surroundings, the analysis of the market.
The weekly market of La Garriga is an engine of economic revitalization of the municipality. So much so that, every Saturday of the year, more than 60 stalls complement the sedentary commercial mix and during the morning, numerous local and foreign people are expressly invited to make the purchase.
The attractive features of fruit and vegetable stalls emphasize the fact that they become an asset due to the wide variety they offer. On the other hand, the economic impact that is generated on market day in the business sector around it is substantial; This reinforces the idea that this is an event of economic promotion and creator of volume of business and employment.
However, the market shows signs of stagnation and low capacity to attract a different public profile; both age and preferences of purchase.
In this sense, it is detected that the market offer is unequally different from that found in other weekly markets in the area and, therefore, there is a little defined position. Consequently, it is considered advisable to work on a modernization strategy that implies rethinking the marketing plan that is carried out.
Thus, this work tries to give a series of methodological guidelines to define a desired position and to deploy a set of actions that allow the objectives to be achieved.
In order to carry out this project, business location techniques and advanced statistical methodology will be used.
