The Diputació de Barcelona, in 2017, produced a barometer of the use of ICT at the point of sale from shops in the province. This study provided a series of data that showed that digital transformation in urban commerce is in a very premature phase, although there are indications that an adaptation to ICTs increases the competitiveness and productivity of companies.
With the aim of giving an impetus to the commercial fabric with the urge to digitize its business, the Diputació believes it desirable to deploy a series of actions in the future.
